It's hard to lose anyone that's close to you, even if they are only an animal. So I'd like to just take a moment to pause in thought for him.

Lightning and his brother, Thunder, were always happy and energetic, playing games with one another and having fun. But then, maybe a few months ago, Lightning started having pains in his leg, and limping around. He would get better then worse and so on, so we thought he just had leg cramps or something. Eventually, it started getting worse, so Mom took him to the vet to get it looked at. It turns out he had a growth or cancer or something in his leg and probably wouldn't live much longer. We gave him all kinds of medicines and things but it didn't really work out; it kind of eased the pain, but... not really. So, eventually, we decided, and today, Dad took him in to the vet, and he was put to sleep. It's good that he doesn't have to endure the pain anymore, but it's still sad to lose him... so, here's to you, Lightning, and may you have fun in Doggy Heaven...

Sorry for your loss.

It always sucks when your pets die.

I know the feeling of having to let something go. We used to have a rabbit who was choking to death and all we could do was watch him die, so when he finally did you feel so relieved that they're not suffering anymore.

I know how it feels shard, my family lost our black lab named blackie a year or two ago, she too had cancer but she had it all over her, and she also had tumors... so we had to have the vet put her to sleep (he did it in our house because she was afraid of the vet...) the sad thing is I never gave her a heart felt good bye... *sniff* I hope there there is such thing as a doggy heaven...

My cat Whiskers died in a similar way. I'd rather not go into it, though. But I understand how difficult it is to lose a pet. I hope you feel better soon.

My cat whiskers was on the verge of leaving this world for the next, I can remember she limped into the Front room, I picked her up and put her on my lap, and a couple of hours later she died in my arms, one of the hardest things I had to do was to watch her die, I know how hard it is to let go, it's a good thing that you put Lightning out of his pain though, I hope you feel better soon.

My dog just died a few weeks ago. I do know how you feel Shard.

All you have to think is,
"He is in better place now."

Sorry for your lost...
When my 19 year old cat died I was sad, I loved that cat! I'd known him since I was born. ;-;

All sadness passes with time, just remember the good times.

I know what it's like to lose a pet. my rabbit, bubbles, was stepped on by a dog. I was only little then, so, naturally, I didn't cry, or anything, because- well, I suppose that's actually. I was still pretty upset, though, and I still am. a couple years later I got another rabbit, and guess what? he ran away, right under my neighbour's fence. I wish I had another bunny. D:
